Colorized illustration of the Reims Cathedral on fire, with flames and smoke rising from the Gothic structure. On the reverse, a handwritten letter dated August 2, 1954, addressed to Mrs. F. Darchin in Lambersart, mentioning an annual visit to the cathedral. The French postmark of 1948 is canceled in Reims. At the bottom, an inscription reads: 'Authentic photograph of the Reims Cathedral during the fire, September 19, 1914.'
