Blue sepia view of the tomb of Cecilia Metella, an ancient monument on the Via Appia in Rome, with a road and a horse-drawn vehicle in the background. On the reverse, a handwritten letter in French addressed to 'Mademoiselle L. Mersanne' in Reconnay, France, dated May 27, 1925, with an Italian 60 centesimi stamp and a postmark from Rome Ferrovia.
