Black and white portrait of a woman in an ornate Oriental costume with feathers and jewelry, with the name 'S.A.R. MARIA JOSE' printed at the bottom. The reverse features a handwritten letter in Italian addressed to Aldo Carnot in Paris, dated December 10, 1920, with an Italian 25 centesimi stamp and a postmark from Ferrovina.
