Description

View of the Rue de la République in Senlis after the destructions of the 1914 war, showing severely damaged buildings with broken windows and cracked walls. Two soldiers walk on the paved street, one with a bicycle. On the reverse, a handwritten letter dated May 12, 1916 addressed to 'My dear Marie' mentions a concert given by the Legion and the sending of a kiss.
