Statue of Baron Thénard (1777-1857) in Sens, with a plaque indicating his name and dates. The printed text recalls that he was not born in Sens, but spent his childhood there with a boarding school master, and that the city adopted him. He contributed to chemistry and fine arts, and discovered hydrogen peroxide. On the reverse, a postcard dated April 24, 1914, addressed to Madame Bouvard in Sceaux, with handwritten correspondence from the sender.
