Printed text at the bottom: '88 Sèvres Manufactory — Staircase of the Ceramic Museum'. On the reverse, handwritten correspondence to Ernest Renan, with address to 'Mmes Meurt' in Ploërmel, and note 'Type Bromide Viré, Reproduction prohibited, Collection F. Fleury'.
