Description

Decorated postcard with vineyards and six vignettes showing the sights of the Yonne: Sens, Joigny, Avallon, Auxerre, Béarnette, and a map of the department. Printed text at the bottom: 'One day I had a thirst for the Yonne, Wanting to know what Auxerre is. As a man of Sens I say: AVALLON, TONNERRE!!'. Back: handwritten letter dated Vincelles, July 24, sent to 'Ma chère Patrielle', signed by Charles Compagnon in Paris, and a postage stamp with cancellation.
