Illustrated postcard with five vignettes showing the cities of Sens, Auxerre, Tonnerre, Joigny, and Avallon, intertwined with grapevine motifs. Printed text in verse: 'I had a lion's thirst (the Yonne) Knowing what water is for (Auxerre) As a man of sense (Sens) I joined (Joigny) A bit of wine and I say Tonnerre! (Tonnerre) Avalons (Avallon).' Back: French 20-centime postmark, Paris 27 May 1921 cancellation, address to Charles Hach in Cincennes (Seine), and handwritten text dated 28 April 1921.
