Description

Illustrated postcard with five vignettes showing the cities of Sens, Auxerre, Tonnerre, Joigny, and Avallon, intertwined with grapevine motifs. Printed text in verse: 'I had a lioness's thirst (the Yonne) Knowing what water is for (Auxerre) As a man of sense (Sens) I joined (Joigny) A bit of wine and I say Tonnerre! (Tonnerre) Let's drink! (Avallon)'. Reverse: handwritten correspondence addressed to Madame Denise Druguet in Druguet, with postage stamps (15 centimes and 10 centimes) and a cancellation stamp from Rho (Rhône) dated May 17, 1909.
