Black-and-white view of a lively beach at St Mildred's Bay, Westgate-on-Sea, with deck chairs, swimmers, and coastal buildings in the background. The reverse has a handwritten address to Mlle Ginette Billard in Paris, two 1/2d imperial stamps, and a postmark from Dagenham dated 1938.
