Description

Sepia-toned view of sunset over the Rhine in Strasbourg, with a row of trees in the foreground and a cloudy sky. Printed text at the bottom: '137. STRASBOURG — Sunset over the Rhine'. Reverse: postcard sent from Paris on 14 August 1940, with two 50-centime stamps, a cancellation 'PARIS 14.8.40', and an address to Madame Golonbeff-Morand in Paris. Handwritten text mentions a visit to the 'Place de l'Église' and a reference to 'the honeysuckle flower'.
