Black and white view of Strasbourg Cathedral, with its imposing Gothic spire and ancillary buildings, viewed from a high vantage point above the rooftops and a tree in the foreground. The reverse features a handwritten letter dated 13 July 1929, addressed to 'My dear wife', mentioning a return to the city and summer memories, with references to the cathedral and the presence of an officer.
