Colorized view of the library at Mount Vernon, showing a large fireplace mantel, a dark wooden bookcase, a round table with an open book and a globe. The reverse indicates that the library contains books belonging to George Washington with his own bookplates, a map of Mount Vernon drawn by him, as well as the original globe and desk. The publisher is the Mount Vernon Ladies Association of the Union, founded in 1853.
