Theatre scene in period costumes depicting the play « Count Hannibal », with actors Mr Oscar Asche as « Count Hannibal » and Mr Ian Penny as « Rochefoucauld ». On the reverse, handwritten French text addressed to Mlle C.L. Geemari in Marseille, dated 23 January 1871, with a British postal stamp « ONE PENNY » and a cancellation « LONDON W ».
