Interior funerary statue depicting Marguerite of Burgundy, founder of the hospital in Nîmes, who died in 1508. Text engraved on the base indicates: 'HERE LIES MARGUERITE OF BURGUNDY BEAUTIFUL SISTER OF ST. LOUIS QUEEN OF JERUSALEM AND OF SICILY FOUNDER OF THIS HOSPITAL SHE DIED ON 4 7 1508 AT THE AGE OF 63 YEARS'. Reverse: handwritten address to Paris, French 5-centime stamp of 1885, cancellation 'TONNERRE 15 4 85'.
