Description

Postcard showing the Gouin Hotel in Tours, a Gothic building adorned with sculptures and arches, dating from the 15th and 16th centuries. The printed text indicates that it was once inhabited by Jean d'Orléans, Controller of Finances under Charles VII, and Jean d'Orléans, Count of Dunois, Constable of France. On the reverse, a handwritten letter from Simone Madeleine to her mother, dated September 9, 1930, mentions a trip to Saint-Pierre and La Salle, with a 40-centime stamp and a Tours postmark.
