Postcard showing a crossing of the Mer de Glace in Chamonix, with a group of people equipped for hiking on the glacier. The reverse contains a handwritten letter dated July 31, 1908, sent to Monsieur Raoustan, owner in Eygaltayes, Drome, describing the experience of the crossing and the dangers encountered. A 10-centime postmark is affixed at the top left, with partial cancellation.
