Description

Stone commemorative monument depicting a draped statue, erected in Raon-lès-Leau in 1887 to honor two French soldiers: an officer of dragoons killed and a citizen of Lionnes wounded during a confrontation with the German soldier Kauffmann on the territory of Vexancourt. Reverse: handwritten correspondence addressed to Pierre Maideleur in Cros-de-Cagnes, with stamp and postmark of Tresgret (22 Sept. 14).
