View of Saint-Mark's Square in Venice, with the clock and Saint-Mark's Basilica in the background, under a cloudy sky, and pigeons on the ground. On the reverse, a handwritten letter dated April 14, 1953, sent from Venice to Miss Mardeau in Montrouge (Sèvres), with an Italian 10 centesimi stamp and a cancellation 'ARRUOLAMENTO SPECIALIZZAT VIASS UN MESTIERE' from Venice.
