Description

Outdoor memorial depicting a lying soldier, erected facing the national cemetery of Douaumont in Verdun, in memory of the second lieutenant André Thome killed during the battle. The reverse indicates the publisher: Douaumont Ossuary (Meuse), and mentions that reproduction is prohibited. The work is attributed to the sculptor Descatoire, with a quote from General Bazelaire.
