Commemorative monument of the Defense of 1870 in Verdun, depicting a sculpture of soldiers in action on a base engraved with 'TO THE DEFENDERS OF VERDUN 1870'. The reverse has handwritten correspondence dated May 29, 1928 from Paris to Camille Sauvelet in Espélette (Pyrénées), with a 40-centime French postage stamp and a circular postmark.
