Description

Illustration of a sculpted bas-relief from the Saint-Merry church, rue Saint-Martin, dating from the 17th century, depicting the Virgin Mary. Printed text explains that the sculpture, originally a convent sign, was moved and reused as a house sign after the Revolution. Reverse: handwritten address to M. Dussart in Paris, French 5-centime postmark, partial cancellation.
