View of the keep of Vire, built in the 12th century by Henry I of England and destroyed in the 17th century by Cardinal Richelieu. Printed text on the front indicates the history of the keep. Reverse: 10-cent postage stamp, postmark from Vire (Calvados) dated April 13, 1924, and handwritten address to Madame Harmegnies in Montmorency.
