Description

View of the medieval castle of Vitré, built on a hillside watered by the Vilaine, with a south facade showing towers and a keep. Printed text describes its history and its sieges against the English. Reverse: handwritten correspondence dated 26 September 1917, addressed to a 'dear sister', with an incomplete address and signature 'Joseph Bénard'.
