Black and white aerial view of the Gothic cathedral of Chartres, dominated by its two spires, amidst a dense urban fabric. The back has a handwritten address to Monsieur Berneurt in Fortunay, near Reims, with a note of return to Paris and a date of 14 May 1925. A postmark and a cancellation stamp from Chartres are visible.
