The reverse has an printed inscription: 'Westminster Abbey — A poem in stone and the resting place of many of Britain's illustrious dead. Outside we have the hurry and bustle of the present; inside the calm and quiet of the past.' A postcard dated September 3, 1947, sent from London to Reims, France, with a blue 2 shillings stamp and handwritten French text.
