Description

Postcard comparing Place Vandenpeereboom in Ypres before and after the bombings of World War I. The front shows an intact view with a statue in the center and a Gothic church, while the reverse presents the devastated ruins. The publisher is Visé Paris, no. 300715-6. The reverse has handwritten correspondence dated April 4, 1916, sent to Charles Tonilly at Le Béber, with a military postmark from Ypres (Belgium) dated April 22–23, 1916.
