Description

Mughal miniature dated around 1605, from the Akbarnama manuscript, depicting a king likely an ancestor of Akbar. The reverse mentions the publisher P. & D. Colnaghi & Co. Ltd., London, and states that the work was brought to India by Babur, founder of the Mughal dynasty. The text notes that the manuscript was written by the Prime Minister Abu'l Fazl and that two copies survive.
