Black and white view of a ruined steeple completely covered in ivy, with visible openings in the masonry. On the reverse, printed text indicating that this is the steeple of Valmeray, which replaced the one where Henry I and William the Conqueror prayed before the Battle of Val-ès-Dunes (1047). The postal mark is addressed to Madame L. Carillo in Gaville, with a 25-centime French Republic stamp dated 1965 and a postmark from Calvados.
