View of the Abbey of Hautecombe in Aix-les-Bains, located on the edge of a lake with a main building and a tower, surrounded by pines. The reverse indicates that the abbey was founded by Saint Bernard around 1125 and restored by the Savoyard sovereigns from 1825 to 1843. It preserves the tombs of the Counts of Savoy under the care of a Benedictine monastic community. The postcard was sent to Mrs. A.M. Michelas in Paris, with a 1.10 franc stamp and an Aix-les-Bains cancellation of April 23, 1980.
