Description

Illustrated postcard depicting the Elephant Fountain in Chambéry, with four views: the central monument, the sculpted elephants, and surrounding buildings. Printed text on the roll describes the fountain erected in memory of General de Boigne (1751-1830), an adventurer in India. Reverse: handwritten correspondence to Madame Henriette, mentioning the fountain and the Column Boulevard, with postmark 69-S and 'IMAGES DE CHEZ NOUS' stamp from Chambéry.
