View of the ancient theatre of Arles, built under Emperor Augustus, with its steps and the Roland Tower to the left. The reverse features a handwritten letter from Danièle Jean to Mme Guyphant, dated 14-18-1972, with a 50-centime postmark and a cancellation 'LE VA'.
