Black and white view of the entrance to the market in Bamako, French Sudan, with a building featuring distinctive architectural lines and market stalls in the foreground. The reverse contains handwritten correspondence dated June 13, 1955, addressed to Mr. Alphonse Marteaud in Paris, and a used Bamako postmark. The publisher 'Parísca' is visible at the bottom right of the front.
