Description

Morning scene in Benares where a holy man receives offerings from women gathered at the ghats. Printed text at the bottom: 'A holy man receiving offerings from women assembled at the ghats early in the morning to perform their morning prayers.' Reverse: sent from Delhi on 25/11/87 to Claude and Raymonde Gay in Villejuif, with Indian stamps (100 and 500 paise) and a postmark 'BY AIR MAIL PAR AVION'.
