Aerial view of the charming shipbuilding centre of Buckler's Hard, where some ships of the Battle of Trafalgar were built from New Forest oak. The port of Buckler's Hard is located south of the Solent estuary. Printed text at the bottom of the reverse mentions the photograph by Antony Miles and the serial number PHA/21426/Hants. Reverse: handwritten French text addressed to Marcel in Bagneux, France, with a 4½p stamp and Southampton cancellation, 8 July 1961.
