Portrait of a young Loi-Kaw woman, a mountain tribe from Burma, wearing a long collar made of copper rings and many silver bracelets. The reverse indicates that she lives in isolated villages near the Thai border, and that these ornaments, once meant to protect against tigers, are now symbols of social status.
