Description

Fragmentary representation of a head of a divinity painted on a wall, from a Gallo-Roman dwelling in Chartres, dating to the end of the 2nd century AD. The reverse indicates the excavation of Rue aux Ormes in 1978, the restoration by the CNRS, and the photo taken by A. Barbet. Handwritten writing at the bottom left mentions 'Pauline' and a personal note at the bottom right.
