Color aerial view of the village of Châtel (Haute-Savoie) with its scattered houses in a green valley, framed by wooded mountains and the snow-capped Mont Blanc in the distance. On the reverse, a handwritten letter dated 16 August 1977, sent from Châtel to Anne Labbé in Ancé, mentioning the station 'S.V.S.' and the 'hill' with a note on ice cream. 80-centime French Republic postage stamp, cancellation 'CHATEL 16 H 8-8 1977'.
