Description

View of a canal in Édam with a typical brick building with red-shuttered windows, topped with a tiled roof. Two people are sitting on a pontoon. On the bridge wall, a decorative coat of arms is visible. The back has handwritten French text dated 2/05/78, addressed to Mrs. Y. Cornélis in Vincennes, France, and mentions the 'Kapiteins huis (Museum) met drijvende kelder'. A Dutch 50-centime stamp from 1978 is affixed, with an obliteration 'EDAM'.
