Panoramic view of the Escorial seen from a wooded promontory, with pines in the foreground. The reverse indicates the publisher 'Escudo de Oro', the serial number 'N.º 55', and a handwritten letter addressed to Madame R. Gourtheïre at Garrabat, near Barcelona, in France. Two Spanish stamps (50 cts and 250 cts) are affixed, with a cancellation from Madrid dated August 22, 1957.
