Description

Black and white view of the Chartres Cathedral overlooking the banks of the Eure, with reflections in the water and adjacent buildings. On the reverse, a handwritten letter addressed to 'Dear Father, dear Grandma' describing a visit to the cathedral and surroundings, with a 12-centime postage stamp and a Compiègne cancellation from 13 August 1954.
