View of Fontainebleau Castle highlighting the Fer à Cheval staircase, built in 1634 by Jean du Cheval, which led to the first floor of the central pavilion. The reverse side features a handwritten letter dated September 20, 1946, addressed to Madame Greu in Ajaccio, with a 50-centime French postage stamp canceled 'DÉS ALPES MARITIMES'.
