Black and white view of the feudal castle of Fougères, flanked by round towers and bordered by a watercourse, with trees in the foreground. The reverse bears an imprinted inscription referring to the castle as « the most important in Europe » and a handwritten address to Madame Eligounneau in Formerie. French Republic postmark of 15 centimes, canceled in Fougères on July 15, 1965.
