Description

Tramcar No. 5, a single-deck tram built in 1927 for the Gateshead & District Tramway Company, is photographed in service near a massive rock spur. The reverse indicates that it was sold in 1951 to the British Railways for the network between Grimsby and Immingham, then restored to its original livery and displayed at the Tramway Museum in Crich, Derbyshire. The image is a natural color photograph by J. Arthur Dixon, printed in 1960.
