View of the feudal castle of Val, flanked by five round towers, built on a rock in the middle of a lake, with a pier and boats in the foreground. The reverse indicates it was built around 1450 by the Estaing family and bears a cancellation from Argentat (Corrèze) dated 6-3-1970, with a 30 centimes postage stamp.
