Four young women in traditional Hessian costumes pose in front of a stone wall. Printed text at the bottom of the front indicates 'Hessische Volkstrachten'. The reverse has a handwritten dated inscription from July 27, 1952, addressed to Bernard in Houguenast (Côtes-du-Nord, France), with a 10 pfennig German postage stamp and a cancellation from Lübingen.
