Illustrated postcard depicting the scene of the Ascension of Mary, with a Latin inscription at the top and a lower scene with a bear. The reverse indicates that it is an ivory relief (Elfenbein-Einband) from the Abbey Library of St. Gallen, carved by a monk from St. Gallen around 900. The photograph is by Lotte Eckener, and the print was published by Verlag Simon und Koch in Konstanz.
