View of the warship H.M.S. VICTORY in Portsmouth, with its name engraved in gold letters on the side and its complex masts and rigging. On the reverse, a handwritten letter dated August 16, 1971, sent from Portsmouth & Sunny Southsea to Paris, signed by Brigitte, mentioning a visit to London and a hope to reunite with the recipients in Paris. Blue 3p stamp and circular cancellation from Portsmouth.
