View of the port of Le Barachois in Saint-Denis, with several old cannons lined up on a red-earth quay, under palm trees, facing the sea and a steep mountain. On the reverse, a handwritten letter in French expresses admiration for the landscape and mentions the discovery of local bananas and avocados. Postmark from La Réunion (850028) and a post office stamp from La Montagne.
