Description

Painting by Jean-François Millet (1814-1875) depicting three gatherers in a wheat field, created in 1857. The reverse details the artist's biography and his realistic intention to portray peasant life without sentimentality. The work is an oil on canvas measuring 53.5 x 111 cm, preserved at the Musée d'Orsay in Paris. The publisher is Photo Giraudon, Paris, with a mention of printing in Italy.
